Cass Community Health Foundation receives $159,000 for safety net dental clinic

KANSAS CITY, Mo., (Dec. 13, 2018) – Cass Community Health Foundation (CCHF) recently received a $159,000 grant from Health Forward Foundation, formerly known as Heath Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City.

Health Forward awarded the $159,000 to CCHF’s safety net dental clinic, Cass County Dental Clinic, through their safety net funding opportunities. The goal of Health Forward’s funding is to improve access to quality health care and preventive care when fragmented systems leave gaps. The funding will be used to provide urgent and non-urgent dental treatment to children and adolescents in 2019. These children are at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines.

Cass County Dental Clinic offers dental services to children and adolescents age zero to 20 who are low-income uninsured or insured by Missouri Medicaid. In 2018, the clinic will treat nearly 3,500 underserved children at its two locations in Belton and Harrisonville, Missouri.

“Health Forward’s support of our clinic is vital to the oral health of Cass County,” Cynthia Randazzo, CCHF president, said. “Without these dollars, we are unable to effectively treat kids who need us most.”
